About the Group

First things first - the aim of this writing group is to provide a group experience but from home.
It is a group for anybody who writes - whether it is poetry, short stories etc etc - but perhaps there isn't a group that they are able to get to, or perhaps they would like the group experience without having to read aloud to a group!!
So that is what this group is really about - it is a group for people who don't always want to walk into a stranger-filled room in a pub or library in order to be part of a writing group!
Here you will find triggers to get you started if you are having writer's block, ideas for web sites you might enjoy and most of all an appreciative audience with which you can share your work if you want to - your writing will be shared on this site if you want it to be, thus leaving room for others to comment on it and maybe give you ideas for future pieces.
You can send one piece or several, however there may not be room to publish everything if you send loads, so perhaps a bit at a time would be easier.
The email address to send submissions is on the right!

Triggers

Ok - straight down to business - triggers.
A trigger being something that is designed to help you start writing if you are in a bit of a block, here are a few ideas from Trevor, a creative writing tutor friend of mine:

1. Catastrophe of nature - the earth moves backwards, the seasons change drastically, night and day are confused and much else. Describe a city scene under such challenges.
Keep it tight - no wasted or redundant words. Make it imagistic.

2. You've just established a world utopia - write a poem showing how people are coping with the changes you've implemented.

3. Write a none specific sensuous poem.
